Life Before Magician life*: Kari Hayes was a home-schooled kid that had much freedom when it came to friends. Her brother and her were close until one day, he was taken. The Hayes family had to pay a large ransom which left them in poverty. Kari was sent to live with her aunt in Brooklyn because her family did not want Kari to suffer. One day while she was walking around aimlessly she stumbled upon a warehouse with a gigantic building on it.
RP Example*: I turned to find more people walking into the Library in a secretive fashion. I wasn't exactly supposed to be in the library so, I dashed hoping they wouldn't notice me. I tripped and fell right in front of one of them, but no one seemed to notice my fumble, like I wasn't even there. I prepared to explain why I was in the library and why there was a whole bunch of scrolls on the table, but again no one seemed to notice. I wondered what that was about.

Life Before Magician life*: Newt spent most of his time in the afternoon studying since he had no friends. His parents were over controlling in his life and cared about his successful more. Newt had been disowned by his parents by the age of twelve. Newt was sent to his godfather where he learned he was a magician and that people were coming to take Newt. Newt’s godfather had known of the 21st Nome in Brooklyn since he was a magician too and thought to send Newt there. The day Newt was going to leave, mysterious men showed up at his godfather’s house and attacked his godfather, but Newt escaped.
RP Example*: I sat in my room, studying, as my dog, Tesla, rubbed against my leg affectionately. I flipped through a history book to read the chapter on Ancient Egyptian Culture. I had read that chapter dozens of times since learning I was a magician, I’d practically memorized it. After reading the chapter the second time, boredom took over. I searched for some playing cards in my drawer so I could play solitaire.

Could you explain good with mental manipulation?

Good with mental manipulation is that with certain gestures and word he can influence people to do what he wants
Example: Newt places a bet that some one will pick card number two. When the opposing better is unsure and put their hand near card number two, he "accidentally" says "No! Don't pick that one!" Placing a bet, the opposing person might think that was card number one and pick it when it turns out to be card number two.
I hope this isn't confusing. Or is this just manipulation.
